When I was a little girl, my Grandmother always taught me to leave a place better than I found it. She spoke of this concept in reference to cleaning up after myself- putting away toys, rolling up a sleeping bag, etc. But, recently her words of wisdom hit me on a deeper level. What AM I doing to 'leave things better than I found them'?

I so agree... I have believed this for years: there are two kinds of people in the world- those who make the world a better place and those who make it worse. We have the amazing opportunity in living to be the former, those who make this earth better, and the people who choose this path never cease to amaze me, and those who choose the second path, well, we must continue to pray for them and hope they can find their way.
PS... LisaLiv, you are definitely leaving things better than in the state in which you found them... you are a wonderful person and friend and you inspire me and all of your other friends... so your grandmother taught you well. :)
