Sacre bleu, where does the time go?  I will admit, since photography class ending, I don't make quite the effort to get out and take photos (shame on me!).  Easter was another lovely day in San Diego and I brought my camera along since colorful Easter eggs are always good photo ops.  Here's a few pics from a lovely Easter dinner prepared by Dad.  Mom, Erik, Stefi, Camille and I all enjoyed the delicious Julia Child inspired Cod.

Busking is the practice of performing in public places for tips and gratuities. People engaging in this practice are called buskers. Buskers may also be known as street performers, street musicians, minstrels or troubadours.

I've been working on a project documenting busking for my photography class.  Here's a few shots from a fantastic vagabond group I came across one Friday night on 5th Avenue in downtown San Diego.  This project has stretched me as I'm not using a flash and many times I'm shooting at night and bukers like to move around.  All growing experiences.  These are the raw photos- no processing yet!

More night time fun with photography this past weekend. I was out and about capturing some of downtown San Diego and enjoyed working with the night lights.

The Balboa Theater is 'historic' San Diego.  I always laugh at the idea of 'old' in southern california, the west coast or even the US in general.  While the Balboa is old opening in 1928, it's still very new in the whole scheme of things.  It was built as a dual use movie theatre and live performance stage.  Thankfully a large renenovation brought the theater back to life recently and it is back in business for live performances.

Horton Plaza (right) opened in 1985 and was a leader in the revitalizing of downtown San Diego.

All the rain in so cal provided a fantastic sky on Friday night.  I got home from work as fast as possible to try and capture the historic El Cortez with a dramatic background.  I've always loved photography but am finally taking a class and indulging my creative side.  Every time I shoot I learn so many new things.  As with anything, hands on is where you really learn!
